Altough many leaders have come and gone for ISIS, these two are the most recent and the very first.
Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi
He is the current ISIS leader, but very little is known about him. He was in prison for 4 years, but was released in 2009. He was formally a member of al Qaeda, but later joined ISIS. He is also known as Al-Khalifah Ibrahim among his followers.
Abu Musab al-Zarqawi
The very first person to lead and establish the terror group al Qaeda, he was quickly killed and new leaders took over.
