Although the war only lasted about a year, the effects of it are still going on today. It was the beginning of the troubles we have today in the Middle East. The outcomes of this war led to global effects and effected the lives of every soldier and person that took part.

"Gulf War Illness" was the name for the symptoms that many of them had including: fatigue, moodiness, depression, sleeping problems, nausea, short-term memory loss, joint pains and more

Thousands of common people were also killed, injured, or taken as prisoners of war

Throughout the war, about 11 million barrels of oil were dumped in the gulf

Iraq, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia suffered major economic effects and military losses that takes billions of dollars to rebuild

It also started uprisings in other Middle Eastern countries that led to the second Gulf War in 2003, and matters still going on today
